Summary

Delivering 3D product models and BIM content to heat exchanger specialists UK Exchangers to create concept products and manufacturing, assembly, and sales drawings to provide critical support to UK Exchanger’s manufacturing processes.

Project

UK Exchangers are a heat exchanger manufacturing company and an example of a client where we take on the role of their drawing office. Having enjoyed a long relationship with UKE, we have visited them many times and now have an excellent appreciation of their requirements.

Initial works included creating 3D models of their current products which enabled us to:

• Create manufacturing drawings for individual parts

• Create assembly drawings for internal use including the bill of materials with pick-lists

• Create sales drawings including rendered images and general arrangements as well as additional, product-specific information

• Maintain their drawing register, creating, and amending drawings as necessary

• Help create concept products from schematics by using real-world 3D content to create a design we know will work

UKE are also a client that we have modelled BIM content for using the 3D information from the above processes. This allowed multi-purpose delivery from manufacturing intent to digital building asset item libraries.
