QEStudio School receives MEP modelling solution

Summary

Comprehensive MEP support for a new build school in Lancashire in line with the Government Construction Strategy from Stage 3 through to handover including COBie and IFC deliverables.

Project

QEStudio School is a two-storey new build school based in Kirby Lonsdale, Lancashire. This project involved complete modelling from Stage 3 through to handover. The process for the schools delivery was a requirement for the newly deployed UK Government Construction Strategy.

The Stage 3 model was produced to provide contractor proposal drawings and initial design intent to allow further design for construction. West Lancashire Group approached YourCAD for modelling support on the project and to use the opportunity to enhance their in-house capabilities.

The Stage 6 model handover included COBie and IFC deliverables.

The project was delivered on time with minimal as-built changes to the digital design. West Lancashire Group realised the benefits of BIM at this early stage and have since adapted a detailed catalogue of their digital installation assets and inclusion of site installers for a better digital design.
